Welcome to our blog post.

Our story this week has been 'Jack and the Beanstalk.'

We have so much fun learning about the story and doing lots of fun activities to support our learning.

We planted beans in the hope of growing our own beanstalks – They might not grow quite as tall as Jacks but we cant wait to watch them.

We filled our pots with soil, carefully popped in ‘Magic Bean’ and then covered it with more soil.

We gave them a little drink of water afterwards.

We have read the story each day and even got to watch a short video on the laptop.

We found it interesting that in the three copies of the book we had out, the stories were all slightly different.

Perhaps the children will be able to tell you about the differences.

We acted out the story, giving the children each a role to play.

It was lots of fun.

We did a cosmic yoga session which was all about Jack and the beanstalk.

It was such a joy to watch as the children wobbled around trying to balance on one leg and get into their yoga poses.

It wasn’t quite the calming activity we had planned for -  we all end up rolling around the floor giggling !!

We have been busy this week making card for our Dads and other loved ones. We wish you all a very happy Father’s Day.

We spent lots of time in the garden enjoying the beautiful sunshine this week.

We noticed that our plants are growing in the garden and the beans we planted earlier in the term are almost as tall as the children.

We enjoyed watering them and hope they will continue to grow.

We made a wonderful beanstalk for a door display – we all painted the leaves and stem before adding them to the door with sticky blu-tak. The children helped to assemble to display and even added their magic beans at the bottom.

Well done everyone. Great work !

On Friday we made our own sandwiches to have with our soup at lunch time.

We also picked some rhubarb from the garden and made a delicious apple and rhubarb crumble for afterwards.

The children used scissors to cut the rhubarb into little chunks.

We served it with custard - it went down really well. YUMMY !

We hope you have enjoyed reading about our week.

Have a wonderful weekend.
