G’day ! Our trip around the world led us to Australia to this week. We have had a wonderful week and have enjoyed lots of fun activities, games, crafts and snacks! We were very thankful to receive a huge box of goodies from Finley’s Auntie Jackie who lives in Australia. She sent us soo many things - decorations, stickers, flip flops, vegemite, Tim tams, bugs, koala, hats etc. The children were super excited to open the box and to see what was inside. Ciao from an Italian Acorns. This week the children have enjoyed a taste of Italy making their own pizzas and Arancini. Deliziosa! The children have learnt about the colours of the flag and had fun painting their own replicas. We loved the creativity and special consideration to the colours.
Ciao ! This week, on our adventure around the world we visited Italy. When we arrived on Monday we noticed that all of The Arctic artwork had been taken down ready for our new artwork to be displayed and we didn’t waste any time in getting started. We had fun making flags, using paints and sponges. This week we have visited the first destination in our around the world topic, the polar regions. We have studied maps and learnt the polar regions are made up of two places - The Arctic, where the North Pole is and The Antarctic, where the South Pole is. The children discussed where different polar animals live and read lots of books about the polar regions. A favourite was 'Poles Apart' a great story about some penguins that took a wrong turn and ended up at The North Pole
This week our project has been all about The Arctic. We have been learning about the weather and the animals we might see if we went to visit. We were excited to learn about Polar Bears. We made some brilliant polar bear pictures using white paint and a fork. We have never painted with forks before and we thought it was very funny. We know that Polar Bears are very strong.
