Welcome to our blog post.

We hope you enjoy reading about our week.

This week we have been learning about the Emergency Services - The people who help us.

We have enjoyed talking about Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Drs and Nurses, Ambulance Technicians & Coast Guards.

The children came up with some good ideas of people who can help us.

“Teachers help us.”

“A lollipop lady at school helps me to cross over the road when the cars are fast.”

“The man in the post office helps.”

Within our continuous provision we had lots of activities and resources to support the theme of the week.

Puzzles with emergency vehicles, special dressing up costumes and stories about community helpers.

We did some crafting - cutting and sticking.

Mark making and colouring.

It has been lots of fun.

Mrs Mundy brought something very special to show us.

Mr Mundy is a firefighter and she had brought in his Firefighters coat, helmet and pager for us to look at.

We took turns to try it on. It was very heavy and we struggled to lift our arms when wearing the coat.

We have been working hard on our manners this week – especially around the table at snack and meal times.

If you could please support this at home we would appreciate it.

Here are a selection of photos from our week. We hope you enjoy seeing them.

We have been growing cress seeds with Mrs Girt over the last week and Mrs Irwin has helped to keep them well watered.

We have been checking on them each day to see how much they have grown and finally they grew enough for us to harvest some.

We all had a taste.

We enjoyed time in the garden and mostly managed to dodge the rain.

Thank you for reading our blog post.
