Week commencing 6th October 2025 – Acorns 25
Welcome to our blog post.
This week we have been learning about ‘The tiger who came to tea’

Many of the children were familiar with the story already.
We loved hearing about the tiger visiting Sophies house and eating all off the food.
We enjoyed reading the book every day and by the end of the week the children were able to recall the characters and some of the words in the book.

We did some painting using conkers in the big tuff tray.
We have collected so many conkers on our adventures.
We added paint and conkers to our foiled tray and rolled them around together.

It was a great task for hand-eye coordination.
Great team work everyone.
We think it looks like tiger stripes!
We had a lovely walk into the village to visit the greengrocers – we wondered if we might see some pumpkins for sale but its still a little bit early.

We did see lots of different types of seasonal fruit and vegetables.
There was also some lovely flowers and bulbs to look at.

We love to try and name all of the different fruits and vegetables.
We enjoy our trips to the village and always find plenty of things to look at and talk about on the way.
We enjoyed lots of time outside again this week. We have had some glorious weather.

We played with playdough and tried hard to roll our dough to make tiger stripes.
It was a good work out for our finger muscles trying to roll the dough into sausage shapes.

We enjoyed painting our very own tigers.
We used orange paint and added black stripes.
We looked at the book to help us remember what a tiger looked like.
"Its orange and black."
"Its got stripes."
"My tiger is orangey."

We made tiger masks !
We used sticky glue to collage paper on our masks. They look great !

We hope you have enjoyed reading about our week.
Thank you for taking the time.
Have a fabulous weekend.

So much fun! Another great week x
