Welcome to our blog.

This week our story has been “The tiger who came to tea”

ree

We introduced the story to the children and talked about each of the characters.

The children were given a task to paint tiger stripes onto their paper – it was interesting to see who could follow a pattern.

Well done everyone.

We went for a lovely walk up the lane and around The Glebe.

We looked at the leaves changing colours and noticed spiders making webs on the hedges.

There is always so much to see.

We chatted to a lovely lady who came out of her house to say hello.

Her children used to go to The Acorns almost 20 years ago and she was delighted to see us out on a lovely walk.

As we are now into October it is time to start thinking about wet weather suits and wellies – I know the weather has been lovely this week but its good to be prepared.

We had the kitchen and picnic toys out and the children started to set out a café/restaurant.

We added some plates, cups and brought the table through from the kitchen.

It was so lovely to see the whole group together working as a team.

"You can be the till person. How much do I pay?

"Two pounds please."

"I have so many money."

They poured tea for each other, paid at the till and shared delicious plates of food.

Sausage plait was on the menu for lunch – we adapted slightly and the children made their own sausage rolls.

They rolled up their sausage meat in pastry and egg washed the tops using a pastry brush.

“Is this paint? We can’t eat paint Mrs Franks!”

“I love sausage rolls.”

“Are we having mashed potato?”

Puzzle -  We worked as a group to complete the puzzle. It was tricky … but we did it !!

We also enjoyed doing puzzles at the table this week.

We did some foil painting in the tuff tray.

We then added some foam which was really fun.

We all went home smelling of shaving foam.

We used coloured playdough to make tiger stripes.

We got crafty and used lots of sticky glue to make our teapot collage pictures.

We added sequins and pompoms.

We have had lots of time in the garden – enjoy what might be the last of the sunshine.

It has been glorious !

Here are a selection of photos from our time outside.

We enjoyed some music and movement in the garden and loved moving our bodies along to the music.

One of the children gave us an Amazon voucher at the end of the last term and we used it to buy a portable speaker.

We have had such fun using it – Thank you again.
