Week commencing 26th January 2026 - Acorns 25

Hello and welcome to our blog post.

We hope that you enjoy reading about our week.

This week our theme has been the Emergency Services and we have enjoyed learning about the special roles.

Mrs Finney told us a story about some real Police officers and Police dogs. We leant about finger prints and how all of our prints are different.

We used magnifying glasses to look at our own prints and then made prints using ink pads on paper.

We enjoyed dressing up and lots of role play.

We set up an emergency vehicles table and had fun driving our vehicles around the track.

We chatted about fire safety and who we would call if there was a real fire.

We collaged a huge 999 poster.

We then role played making the call on our toy phones.

We could hear a noise outside and we were intrigued as to where it was coming from so we headed out to explore.

We used our listening ears to guide us and found tree surgeons in the Doctor Surgery carpark.

We watch for a while as they were cutting down some big branches from the trees.

We have had a wonderful week.
