Hello Everyone.
Welcome to our weekly blog post.
We hope you enjoy reading about our week.
This week our focus has been on The Three Little Pigs story.
We read the story each day to the children and planned activities to support their learning around the theme.
It was interesting to see how the children were able to recall the story as the week went on.
We made pink playdough and the children enjoyed exploring the dough and making pigs.
They added features to the pigs - learning new words like trotters & snout.
They even added curly tails.

We collaged houses - using spaghetti, wool and card in place of straw, sticks and bricks.

We used construction toys to make our own houses.

We did some junk modelling and made houses - we don't think the big bad wolf would be able to blow our houses down.

We got out our box of animals and decided to count how many pigs we had in our box.
We set them out in a row and counted using 1:1 correspondence.
We had 13 pigs.
We used sponges and shaving foam to create enclosures for our pigs and then extended the activity to make houses made from bricks.

We found a snail in the garden which we watched for a while.
It was quite amazing to watch as it moved around slowly.

We had lots of fun outside this week.
Here are a few photos ...

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Mrs Franks and The Acorns Team.
