What a busy week !

Our letter of the week is D.

We told a very funny story about Dotty and her Doggy called Dusty who went to visit Derek the Dentist who likes to play the Drums.

Derek lives at home with his wife Deirdre and his 2 children Duncan and Debbie.

Perhaps the children will re tell the story for you at home?

It was World Bee Day on Tuesday and we had so much fun learning about bees.

We learnt that bees have 6 legs & 4 wings.

Bees are important for pollination. We read that bees carry pollen between the flowers.

They have very long tongues that are a bit like a straw and they suck up sweet nectar from the flowers and carry it back to the hive.

We had honey on our porridge at snack time - it was delicious!

Our friend taught us a new song about bees in a hive which we have enjoyed learning.

Thank you for teaching us.

We had lots of fun in the garden this week.

We planted some baby carrots – the children were amazed at how tiny they were.

We also have been busy crafting ahead of Village Day.

The children worked really heard to create some farm animals for our walking float.

We hope to see you all there on the day.

A big, huge, gigantic thank you to the group of parents who have organised the day for us all to enjoy.

We are so grateful to you all.

Chicken pox has arrived at The Acorns – Please keep an eye on the WhatsApp group for updates.

Can we take this opportunity to thank everyone for their kind words, hugs and messages this week since we shared our news with you all.

It has been an incredibly tough time for us all at The Acorns and we are so grateful for your support and love.

As I mentioned in the WhatsApp group your reviews are more important than ever before so please can I ask once again for you to visit the Day Nurseries website which I linked on WhatsApp to leave your review. You can also use the link on this website under the drop down box  ‘Testimonials’

We look forward to continuing to offering you and your children the outstanding service you all deserve.

This week we said a sad final farewell to Andrew Press.

A wonderful father to one of our children who left us for school last year.  Some of you will remember him fondly from drop off times in the mornings. I wanted to let you know there has been a ‘Fun Fund’ set up so his 2 children can enjoy some extra fun activities over the coming months in memory of their lovely Dad.  We have the details -  if anyone wishes to make a donation then please speak to Mrs Franks.

Half Term next week, we hope the weather stays nice and chicken pox doesn’t ruin any fun plans you might have.

Enjoy it and we will see you on the other side for the final half term of the nursery year.

Please remember that our Family Fun Picnic is on Thursday 10th July and we would love to see you all there with your children.

Here are a few extra photos from our week.

The library display will probably be coming down soon - so if you want to see it, be quick to visit.

We hope the children enjoy seeing their fabulous artwork on display.

Happy Half Term !

Mrs Franks and The Acorns Team.
