Week commencing 15th April 2024 - Acorns 59

Welcome back!

We hope everyone enjoyed a fabulous Easter break and that you are all feeling refreshed and ready for a fun packed summer term.

We enjoyed hearing about the adventures and fun the children shared with their families and friends.

“I went to the beach.”

“My granny made an Easter Egg hunt in her garden.”

“I had one million thousand 79 and 20 eggs.”

“I had a birthday – I am 4 now.”

We don’t plan set activities for the first week of the term –  We just go with the flow as the children re settle into Acorns life and routines.

We follow their leads & any new interests they may show, offering opportunities and activities to support their learning along the way.

We have drawn new self portraits to decorate the cloakroom with.

The children looked in the mirror and drew themselves using black pens.

The teachers love seeing how the drawings progress each term.

Make sure to pop in and have a look – the children are very proud of their work.

We will be displaying some art work in the library in a few weeks so we also spent some time free painting – indoors and out.

We will let you know when the artwork is on display and hopefully you will be able to visit.

We have enjoyed spending lots of time in our garden – the weather has been kind and we have been warm and dry all week which has been a joy !!

The climbing frame has been a firm favourite.

We had a tea party in the garden

We found something very special in our play house – can you spot it?

Mrs Robertson and Mrs Franks carefully removed it so the area would be safe for the children.

The children were fascinated by the delicate nest.

Our friend brought something special in to show us.

Did you know that we have a 4 year old bee keeper at The Acorns?

Thank you for sharing lots of information about your bees and hives with us – we love to listen to you chatting about the bees.

We enjoyed hunting for bugs in the garden. We were lucky to find some tiny ants and woodlouse.

What a brilliant first week back.

We hope the children have had lots of fun.

We look forward to learning about Poland next week.

Have a happy weekend everyone.

Mrs Franks and The Acorns 59 Team.
