Week commencing 26th February 2024 - Acorns 25

Hello Everyone.

Welcome to our blog post.

We have had a wonderful week learning about Kenya.

Catherine (Timothy's Mummy) has helped with this weeks menu and activity plan. We are very grateful.

We have loved learning about all of the animals that live in Kenya.

Our favourite animals are Elephants and Lions.

We had safari animals in our tough tray - the teachers had set up an African Adventure tray for us.

The children made Lion heads ... they spread paint over their paper and then once it had dried they snipped with scissors to fan the paper out.

The added a face using sticky glue.

The lions look fantastic. The children worked very hard making them.

Catherine made us some yummy food this week which we enjoyed very much.

Its great for us to try new things and tastes.

The children particularly enjoyed the mahamri bread and the mince dish on Friday.

Mrs Finney made us a special elephant game.

We loved layering up the coloured and numbered tubes on the elephants trunk.

We listened to a story about Elmer the Elephant and made our own Elmer pictures.

Potato printing the different colours onto Elmers body.

The children identified and named the colours as they painted.

Catherine came in to read some stories with the children.

They all listened well and enjoyed the story about kindness.

Thank you again for coming in and for all your help this week.

We enjoyed time in the garden this week, dodging the showers where possible.

Please remember to bring in wet weathers and wellies.

We used stencils to draw safari animals.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mrs Franks and The Acorns 25 Team.
