Week commencing 15^th June 2026.

Hello and welcome to our blog post.

We hope you enjoy reading about our week at The Acorns.

It has been a wonderful week and we have enjoyed many fun activities and spent lots of time in the garden.

We made some special cards for Father’s Day – we hope that all of our Dads have a wonderful day on Sunday.

We have been tending to our sunflowers in the garden.

We planted these a few weeks after the original ones so they aren’t quite as tall as the ones the children have taken home.

We have enjoyed seeing the photo updates on WhatsApp and can’t believe how tall some have grown.

We do have a few spares here so if you need a replacement – just ask.

We have done some wonderful painting this week - using paint brushes, cotton buds and our fingers. 

We have some fabulous artists here.

The rhubarb in the garden is growing well and we cut some to make yummy cakes.

They were delicious.

We used our trusty banana muffin recipe, but swapped the banana for some stewed rhubarb.

The recipe never fails – we have tried it with all sorts of fruits and veggies and the muffins always turn out perfectly.

A friend brought in a game from home which we enjoyed exploring.

The perfect introduction to coding for young children.

Using the coloured chips, we programmed the little robot to move around the mat.
