Week commencing 23rd June 2025 - Acorns 59

Wow !

We have had such a busy week.

This week our focus has been on the traditional story 'The Gingerbread Man'

We have enjoyed so many fun activities related to the story.

We made some delicious gingerbread men to take home.

We helped to weigh and measure the ingredients before combining them together to make a dough.

We rolled out the dough, cut out our shapes, baked them and then decorated them carefully with raisins, icing and little candy eyes.

We were all so proud of them - they turned out really well.

We did lots of crafting this week.

We used the cutters to make gingerbread man prints in paint.

We used a pre cut stencil in the shape of the Gingerbread man.

We decided to harvest our potatoes whilst in the garden.

We emptied our sack into the tough tray and the children searched through the soil for lovely new potatoes.

We didn't have a huge crop, but it was certainly enough for lunch the next day.

We found a little friend in the soil.

The potatoes needed a good wash - so we did that outside in the sunshine.

We also found this ... We think perhaps a cheeky squirrel had hidden it.

We had lots of fun in the garden and this week the climbing frame has been a firm favourite.

The children are getting stronger and many of them are keen to tackle the monkey bars.

We made our own pizza for lunch on Friday.

The children used the Child Safe knifes to chop up peppers and sausage, we grated cheese and set up a pizza making station.

They were delicious and the children really enjoyed them for lunch.

Well done little chefs !
