Week Beginning 10th December 2018 - Westmeston
It's the Christmas holidays! We have been busy sorting, making and playing. It has been a chilly week with frost on some days and just sogginess on others. We have still been outside, of course, getting lots of fresh air. The trees and bushes are mostly bare now so it is much easier to spot our friends when we are playing hide and seek!
This week we visited St Martin's Church just
along the road to make Christingles. Gary told us about Advent and then explained about Christingles. We learned that the orange represents the earth, the red ribbon is the blood of Christ, the toothpicks are the seasons and the raisins and sweets are
fruit. The candle at the top (battery operated of course) is the light of Jesus. We hunted around the church for Sally the Candle before making our own Christingles. Just before we left we all took turns at ringing the bells.
We had lots of fun at the Christmas Party on Friday. We made
crowns, played games including pass the parcel and we were really pleased to see such good turn taking and manners.
We really enjoyed seeing all of the Christmas jumpers and outfits this week but we expect to see everyone back in full uniform when we come back in the New Year!
All of the staff would like to thank everyone for the lovely cards and gifts.
We hope that you all have a Lovely Christmas break with your families and friends and we look forward to seeing you all next year.
