Week commencing 8th October 2018 - Lindfield.

Another wonderful week has flown by. Can you believe that it is almost half term?

The weather has been amazing and we have enjoyed being outside in the garden each day, playing and exploring - searching for bugs and chatting about the signs of Autumn.

The leaves are falling fast and are beginning to dry up. We watched them swirling around on the path as the wind blew.

We blew bubbles and chased them around the garden, trying to pop them with our fingers before they floated high up into the sky.

The children were finding it hard to share the bikes and trikes so we introduced a sand timer to support them in their turn taking.

This was super effective and worked a treat!

We collected leaves from the garden, dried them and made some beautiful leaf collage pictures. We talked about how the leaves were different colours and shapes.

We drew our self portraits for our tea towels this week. It was a great opportunity for us to notice our similarities and differences.

The children looked in the mirror and talked about themselves, describing what they could see.

The pictures were so amazing that we decided to make a door display.

We did lots of building this week.

We used duplo, sticklebricks, magnets, foam blocks and wooden blocks.

We created some wonderful structures.

We have been encouraging the children to plan their models before building them.

We did some pencil work, practising our name writing skills.

We are learning to hold our pencils the correct way and how to form our letters.

Mrs Irwin has a special job to do this weekend.

She is going to the library to display some of our artwork.

We have been busy making pictures for her to use in the display.

We made some more conker pictures, did some leaf printing and also some bright sticky collage pictures.
