Week beginning 11th December 2017 - Westmeston

We had a wonderful visit to St Martin's Church at Westmeston with Tuesday's children. We learned all about Christingles with Gary and we made one that we were able to take to home. Tessa, Father David and Mother Nicole made us very welcome. Gary showed us the figures from the Nativity scene and we able to ring the Church bells. We sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Away in a Manger" in front of the beautiful Christmas tree. Thank you so much to everyone involved.

We looked through Mrs Hilton's collection of Christmas stories outside in the chilly grounds.

We made cranberry and white chocolate cookies to take home. They were delicious. We also made Christmas tree shaped cookies to decorate at the Christmas Party.

We have been on chilly walks where we have seen that the leaves are slowly disappearing into the ground. We have collected huge pine cones and enjoyed exploring a tree that had broken and fallen across a path.

We noticed that the sheep don't seem to be that worried by us any more and we are able to get close to them for a chat!

We have enjoyed making Christmas crafts to take home but sadly some things have been left behind. Please don't worry, they will be a lovely surprise to rediscover in the New Year!

Messy play has featured heavily inside and outside this week. We have been rolling, stirring, squeezing, throwing, sliding and even sitting in as we make the most of all opportunities to explore. It is good for us to get nice and clean and dry afterwards though.

We ended the week with a lovely party that was very exciting and noisy.

Father Christmas found time to pass by in between jobs and he left a present for everyone!

We hope that you have a very happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
