This week we have been looking at numbers. When out on walks we have been searching for numerals – we found lots. We looked at house numbers and the numbers on car registration plates. We went to the bakery and used money to buy some bread. The money we used had a number 5 on it.
We have been learning to recognise our age in numbers and have made some amazing number collages.

Each year the home owner invites us to collect the conkers that have fallen from his tree. We managed to fill up our basket with lots of shiny and smooth conkers. This week at Westmeston we concentrated our efforts on Moving and Handling under Physical Development. We also had lots of fun around the story of Cinderella. On Monday the children started to make a castle out of recycled cardboard complete with a drawbridge! Modifications to the castle continued all week. Later on in the week the children transformed their scooters and bikes into horses with a little help from the grown ups! We tried our balancing skills on ropes and planks
